Flamenco "duende" mingles with a bit of comic relief during this third installment of American Bolero Dance Company's production of "Tablao Flamenco". This ongoing Queens, NY -based series, established in 2008 by Gabriela Granados, features live Flamenco, and other styles of Spanish dance and music, performed by some of the finest dancers, singers and guitarists from NYC and abroad, and presented in a cabaret-like format and atmosphere that emulates the flamenco clubs or 'tablaos' of Spain.

This month's cast includes:
Visiting dancer and choreographer JUAN SIDDI, Artistic Director/Founder of Juan Siddi Flamenco Theatre Company and recipient of the 2011 Santa Fe Mayor’s Award for Artistic Excellence, joins a fabulous roster of renowned artists from the New York City flamenco community. They include dancers GABRIELA GRANADOS, SOL “LA ARGENTINITA” and LILIANA MORALES, singers ALFONSO CID and AURORA REYES, and guitarists RAPHAEL BRUNN and CRISTIAN PUIG. The BALLET ESPAÑOL de GABRIELA GRANADOS will also debut a stylish classical Spanish group choreography set to Ravel’s Bolero.

Since 2008, the Company has been offering a slice of Sevilla to the borough of Queens with this popular series of monthly showcases featuring live Flamenco and other styles of Spanish dance and music. Presented in a cabaret-type format and atmosphere, guests can enjoy food and drinks while being entertained by some of the finest talent from NYC and abroad. "Tablao Flamenco” re-creates the experience of being in a flamenco club, or ‘tablao’, in Spain, to the delight of local audiences.
Tablao Flamenco is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with the City Council.
